This shawl has been the staple piece to my wardrobe, year round, for years & years. It’s versatility is fantastic. In the summer, it’s a tank top & shorts, & when the sun goes down its this shawl. It can easily be THE accessory for a cocktail dress. It’s great for fall & winter, or with some skinny jeans & boots. This pattern is so adaptable. The great bones of the pattern can be tweaked & added to, so easily, to make each one unique. I’ve never made the same one, twice.
This shawl is knitted in the round, on size 7 circular needles. There are plenty of yarns that can be used: Fancy Image Fingering weight, with two strands held together, Yarnitoli DK, or Yarnitoli worsted weight yarn. The gauge for this pattern is 5-6 stitches & 6-7 rounds per inch. This design is great for accent yarns and scrap yarn, too! But it does not require them. You will need 300-800 yards of the yarns listed above, size 7 circular needles, eyelash yarn (optional), 120-300 yards of Yarnitoli Kid Mohair (for the optional ruffle edge), and a size 7 DPN for the bind off.
The Reunion Shawl is a staple piece for every woman’s wardrobe: big & small. It’s sooo versatile & the "great bones” adaptable design lends itself to so many possibilities. With its classic pattern, it can easily transform from a lightweight top to a cozy Fall accessory. It pairs perfectly with a cocktail dress, a tank & shorts, or jeans & boots. And, with its ability to be tweaked & customized, you can create a unique piece every time.
